Deloitte Virtual Internship

Overview

I completed a virtual internship at Deloitte Australia through Forage, focused on real-world tasks. The internship included two detailed projects simulating client interaction, data interpretation, and decision-making in a professional services environment.Also as part of a technical internship challenge, I authored a detailed development proposal for a secure, intranet-based dashboard to monitor the health status of 9 machines across Daikibo Industrials’ 4 factories. The solution involved designing a single-page application (SPA) with collapsible views at both the factory and device levels, supporting real-time status visibility and historical data tracking.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Analyzed and interpreted two inconsistent JSON-based telemetry data schemas used across Daikibo Industrials' infrastructure.
• Designed a unified data model, consolidating device metadata, timestamp normalization (from UNIX milliseconds to ISO 8601), and hierarchical location structuring.
• Implemented transformation functions (convertFromFormat1, convertFromFormat2) in Python to parse and restructure both flat and nested JSON inputs into the standardized schema.
• Developed test cases using Python’s unittest framework to validate schema compliance, data integrity, and transformation correctness for both data types.
• Ensured scalability and reusability of the conversion logic for future schema extensions and telemetry sources.

Projects

• Project 1 – Telemetry Data Unification for Daikibo Industrials: In this project, I developed a solution to unify telemetry data from Daikibo Industrials, where half of the infrastructure utilized one data format and the other half used a different format. .
• Project 2 – Internal Machine Health Monitoring Dashboard — Daikibo Industrials: As part of Deloitte Australia’s technical internship challenge, I proposed the development of a secure, internal-use-only dashboard for Daikibo Industrials. The dashboard visualizes the real-time health status of 9 industrial machines across 4 factories..

Outcome

Successfully completed the virtual internship with hands-on exposure to Deloitte’s technology workflow and processes. The experience enhanced my analytical thinking and presentation skills in a corporate setup.
